Shipping policy

Delivery:

*Due to the nature of shipping Gift Smack can never guarantee a specific delivery date* To inquire about certain delivery timelines, please reach out to our team at 403-782-0250 or shop@giftsmack.ca to ensure we can meet your requirements.

We ship using the fastest, most economical carriers (UPS, Fedex, Purolator).

PO Boxes must be sent by Canada Post.

For apartment buildings, if you are not sure if your recipient will be home to accept delivery, we recommend selecting Canada Post or having the gift delivered to their workplace.

What if the gift recipient isn't home?

Residential address: The carrier will leave the gift in a safe place at the door, if available. If there isn't a safe place to leave the gift, they'll leave it at the nearest pickup location.

Commercial address: The carrier will reattempt delivery the next business day.

Delivery Timelines:

Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Red Deer, Blackfalds, Lacombe

Orders placed before 11am on business days are typically shipped out the same day and delivered the following BUSINESS day (Red Deer, Blackfalds & Lacombe gifts are hand delivered by our courier).

Canada-wide shipping:

Orders are shipped out the same or next business day. Arrival depends on the shipping method selected.

Western Canada shipping times: Approximately 1-5 business days.

Rest of Canada shipping: 2-8+ business days.

SHIPPING ACROSS CANADA

Gift Smack Gift Company uses the fastest and most economical carrier to ship across Canada. Gifts with temperature sensitive items (liquids, chocolate etc) may require a signature during cold/hot seasons to avoid being left in the elements and freezing/melting. 


PO BOXES:
Gifts being sent to a PO Box will be shipped using Canada Post. 

Flat Rate Shipping Terms & Multiple Boxes to the same location -

  • Flat rate & free shipping (if offered) is applicable to a maximum of 2 gift boxes being shipped to the same location. 
  • Multiple gifts (more than two) being shipped to the same location do not qualify for flat rate or free shipping. Please contact us for a shipping quote at 403-782-0250 or shop@giftsmack.ca 
  • Any orders that are placed with multiple gift boxes (more than two) that have selected flat rate shipping to the same location - the order will be on hold until the additional shipping charges have been paid. 
  • Multiple Box Shipping to the same location - flat rate and all other shipping options (Expedited, Xpress Post & Priority rates) are for a maximum of two boxes being shipped to the same location - please contact us for a shipping quote for multiple boxes to the same location 403-782-0250 or shop@giftsmack.ca

LATER SHIPPING DATES: Later shipping is the day the gift leaves the warehouse, not the day the gift is delivered (gift delivery date will depend on the method of shipping selected and carrier shipping times). Please plan for 2-9+ business days for the shipping process. 

Gift Preparation/Fulfillment Times: 

Gift Smack makes every attempt to fulfill your order asap. Most orders received during the business day are packed and shipped out the same day or next business day.

Shipping Timelines: 

General Shipping Time Guidelines (these times are after the gift is processed and leaves our warehouse):

  • Alberta & BC: 1−3 business days
  • All other Provinces/Territories: 4−9+ days*.
  • Large Orders - Multiple boxes delivered to a single location may be boxed together.
  • Festive Season – To avoid disappointment, please order as early as possible during Nov/Dec.
  • Special Instructions - Please note that special instructions may delay your order. If we have questions regarding your instructions, we will contact you at the email provided at checkout.
  • Apartments & Townhouses - Please be aware that the recipient may be called if the gift is being delivered to an apartment or townhouse without concierge services. The order may be delayed until we can confirm someone is available to accept the delivery.

Undeliverable Gifts

If gifts are shipped and unable to be delivered because of customer error (address typed incorrectly, recipient has moved etc), gifts will be returned to Gift Smack Gift Company. To resend the gift, the customer will be responsible to pay the shipping costs again. Gift Smack will contact the customer regarding the returned gift, if there is no reply within 30 days, the gift will be considered abandoned. 

If the customer does not wish to resend the gift, a refund will be provided less a $15 restocking fee and shipping costs. 

RED DEER & AREA GIFT DELIVERIES (Including Lacombe, Ponoka & Blackfalds) Local Deliveries are made Monday-Friday during business hours by a local courier. The courier may 'safe drop' your gift, so please ensure the recipient is home or available to receive their gift.
  • Local deliveries CANNOT be made to a PO Box,  you must choose a Canada Post shipping option for PO Boxes
  • Mon−Fri: Orders received before 11:59am MST for addresses within the Red Deer (Red Deer, Lacombe, Ponoka, Blackfalds) area will be delivered the following business day (call to inquire about same day delivery)
  • During the peak holiday season (Nov/Dec) deliveries will be made next-day or later.

We offer local gift delivery in the Red Deer Area from Monday to Friday, between 9:00am and 5:00pm MST. During the holiday season, residential gifts may be delivered up until 8pm. Please note that delivery is attempted on the date selected, however, we are unable to guarantee delivery on that date. If a recipient is not available when delivery is attempted, the gift may be left with reception, concierge, a neighbour or on the front porch if the area is considered safe by our driver. If the area is deemed unsafe or there is nobody available to accept the gift on the recipient’s behalf, it will be returned to our head office and the sender will be contacted for further direction.
